Motley's Recipes is a FileMaker 4 database.
Until the shareware fee is paid, you will not be able to enter or delete any records. When the shareware fee has been received, you will receive a password via email that will allow you to access these functions. You can enter your name in the Main screen and print the records that come with Motley's Recipe File to experiment with before the shareware fee is paid. You can search for ingredients or recipes to see how the database functions.
All of the screens are accessible from the “Open First” screen. After the "Open First" screen has opened, you will be asked for a password. If you hae not registered Motley's Recipes, you can just click and the main screen will appear. You can experiment with the database but you will not be able to edit, add or delete any records. You will be able to print recipes already in the file and personalize the database.
If you have registered, enter the password and then click. You can then add or delete recipes.
If you have any questions concerning the buttons used on the screens, you can click the "question mark" button and an explanatory help screen will explain the buttons. Most should be straightforward.
Entry is quite straightforward. All of the records can be deleted so that you can start over, if you wish. Recipes were put in for examples only. The numbering will start at the current level of the number of recipes in the database. Several of the items have lists which you can edit however you wish. When you come to one of these, just click on “Edit” and you will be able to add or delete however you wish.
The 8.5x11 screens can be used with any printer. The 4x6 screen was meant for laser printing. I do not know how well this will work with inkjet printers. Personally, my printer does not do well with anything other than 8.5x11 paper and envelopes.
As a note, the print screens are not meant to be used as data entry, especially the 4x6 Print screen. The font used on this screen is small in order to get all of the information onto the card. A variety of 8.5x11 pages have been included trying to cover various tastes. When you want to print out any of the forms, just click on the print icon next to the navigation buttons. Neither the printer icon or the navigation buttons will be printed.

CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD
Once the shareware fee has been paid and you receive your password, you will be able to change the password to whatever you wish. You must use at least one letter, number or symbol for the password.
PROGRAM PRICING:
1-10 single user licenses, $18 per user
11+ single user licenses. $16 per user
A Site License costs $360 and covers all locations for your organization within a 160 kilometer radius of your site (100 miles). One big advantage of a Site License is that you do not need to keep track of how many people at your site are using the software.
A World-Wide License costs $1440 and it covers all locations for your organization on the planet earth.
Paying for the program is fairly simple. Open the Register program that accompanies Motley's Recipe File. Enter your name, your email address, and the number of single user licenses you desire. (or Site or World-Wide licenses). Save or copy or print the data from the Register program and send the data and payment to Kagi. More specifics on the Register program to follow, Kagi handles my payment processing.
If paying with Credit Card, you can email or fax the data to Kagi. Their email address is sales@kagi.com and their fax number is +1 510 625-6589. You can either copy the data from Register and paste into the body of an email message or you save the data to a file and you can attach that file to an email message. There is no need to compress the data file, it's already pretty small. If you have a fax modem, just print the data to the Kagi fax number.
Payments sent via email are processed within 3 to 4 days. You will receive and email acknowledgment when it is processed. Payments sent via fax take up to 10 days and if you provide a correct internet email address you will receive an email acknowledgment.
If you are paying with cash or USD check, you should print the data using the Register application and send it to the address shown on the form, which is:

You can pay with a wide variety of cash from different countries but, at present, if you pay via check, it must be a check drawn in US Dollars. Kagi cannot accept checks in other currencies, the conversion rate for non-USD is around USD 15 per check and that is just not practical.
If you have a purchasing department, you can enter all the data into the Register program and then select Invoice as your payment method. Print three copies of the form and send it to your accounts payable people. You might want to highlight the line that mentions that they must include a copy of the form with their payment.
Kagi cannot invoice you company. You need to act on my behalf and generate the invoice and handle all the paperwork on you end.
Please do not fax or email payment forms that indicate Cash, Check or Invoice as the payment method. As far as we know, there is still no technology to transfer physical objects via fax or email and without the payment, the form cannot be processed.
Payments sent via postal mail take time to reach Kagi and then up to 10 days for processing. Again, if you include a correct email address, you will hear from Kagi when the form is processed.
PROTECTION:
Motley's Recipe File has a protection scheme and when you pay, we tell you how to indicate to Motley's Recipe File that you have paid the registration fee. If you do not have an email address, please enter your complete postal address and please remember, we do not know what country you live in, so please enter that into the postal address also.
